City consultative diagnostic Department of ophthalmology is created and functions on the basis of Health care facility"the 3rd city Klumov clinical hospital ''. Reception of patients is carried out in 2shifts - 8:00am- 19:00pm in the directions of doctors of policlinics by appointment.
The department consists of the following cabinets :
- consultative ophthalmologic cabinets;
- glaucoma cabinets;
- aftercare cabinet;
- cabinets of functional and ultrasonic diagnostics of eye.

METHODS OF INSPECTION
RESEARCH of VISUAL ACUITY (visometry) is carried out by means of tables of check of sight - optotypes (in special devices) and projector of test signs. Research of visual acuity allows the ophthalmologist to define eye resolution(achromatic threshold, color perception, depth perception). The ophthalmologist investigates visual acuity at all pathological conditions of eye and anomalies of refraction, and also at expert and professional assessment of visual analyzer.
The ophthalmologist applies PERIMETRY to research of fields of vision and detection of scotoma. The projective perimeter is intended for all types of perimetry. For purpose of a quantitative assessment of light sensitivity use spherical, kinetic perimeters, perigraf, visual field analyser. Researches of field of vision allow to study visual functions in this or that his point, play an important role in diagnostics of various pathological processes in visual analyzer, especially at glaucoma, diseases of optic nerve, retina pathology.
RESEARCH of ocular refraction. Sciascopy is objective assessment of clinical refraction by carrying out shadow test by means of an ophthalmoscopic mirror and set of trial eyeglass lenses or sciascopy frames. Kind of method is laser sciascopy. Ophthalmologists carry out value judgment by means of trial-point glasses. Refractometry is objective measurement of refraction of eye by means of optical devices – refractometers. Both techniques allow to define types of refraction (emmetropia , myopia , hyperopia , astigmatism) and their quantitative parameters.
AUTOREFRACTOMETRY is method of computer diagnostics allowing to determine refracting power of eye with high precision. This research is an integral part of diagnostics of pathological processes, and also it is necessary for exact lens fitting.
Еonometry–ophthalmotonometry(ophthalmotonus) by means of tonometers (Impression , applanation) and specially developed tables. The method allows to reveal changes of intraocular pressure within a day.
Tonography – it is method allowing to the ophthalmologist to define dynamics of exchange of chamber moisture in eye,speed of her production and ease of outflow. Research is conducted at all types of glaucomas, it is especially frequent in early diagnostics. It allows to define dynamics of oftalmotonus in the course of compression with graphic record.
BIOMICROSCOPY – special method of research of forward segment of eye and eyeground(
biofunduscopy) by means of biomicroscope. In the device are combined an intensive light source (bright homogeneous beam of light) with the diaphragm having the form of a narrow crack, and a binocular microscope (increase by 8-100 times). The image of covers of eye is considerably enlarged,
stereoscopic and contrast. Ophthalmologists apply a method in diagnosis of many diseases of eyes; he allows to localize accurately depth of an arrangement of pathological process and size of disease sites.
Gonioscopy – special method of research of angle of anterior chamber of eye by means of the optical device (gonioscope) and contact liquid allowing to study the anatomical structures invisible at other researches. Microgonioscopy– research of structure of angle of anterior chamber of eye by means of a gonioscope and biomicroscope.Gonioscopy opens new opportunities in diagnostics and the clinical characteristic of glaucoma, tumors, foreign matters, cysts, inflammatory and dystrophic diseases of eyes.
Ophthalmoscopy – one of the most important methods of research of eye. Research is conducted by means of the ophtalmoscope and a magnifying glass or the electric ophtalmoscope, the binocular ophtalmoscope. The method allows the ophthalmologist to diagnose retina diseases (dystrophic, ischemic, inflammatory), retinal detachment,disease of idiovascular cover (horioidea) and optic nerve (inflammatory, vascular , tumors , stagnant disks, atrophy). For identification of early ill-defined symptoms of many diseases use
stereo ophthalmoscopy, researches in spectral light (Ophthalmoscopy) and eyeground in the polarized light.
ULTRASONIC DIAGNOSTICS – Ultrasonography of eye is carried out by means of an echoophthalmograph. The method is based on the ability of ultrasound waves propagate in the desired direction in the medium and reflected from the surface of media .The reflected signals are registered on the screen (echogram). The method is highly effective, safe, harmless, has no contraindications. It is applied to diagnosis of various diseases, especially at opacity of the refracting environments (at retinal detachment, tumors, injuries of eye, pathology of crystalline humor, hemorrhages); it is possible to use for determination of parameters and shape of eye – biometrics, apply A - and B-methods.
OCT (optical coherent tomography, opticalcoherencetomography, OCT) is the hi-tech, ultramodern, noninvasive method of ophthalmologic research allowing to receive lifetime images of optically transparent tissues of eye with high spatial resolution.
OCT of the FORWARD SEGMENT of EYE allows to obtain valuable information on pathological changes in forward segment of eye:
diseases of cornea , iris , changes in the anterior chamber angle .
OCT of the BACK SEGMENT of EYE allows to receive visualization of the smallest details of a structure of retina and optic nerve, and also detailed features of pathological changes, "live" picture of high quality of eyeground in real time. Detailed mapping of thickness of retina in various sites gives the chance of monitoring of dynamics of a course of disease, an assessment of efficiency of treatment.
МЕТОД УЛЬТРАЗВУКОВОЙ BIOMICROSCOPY (UBM) – hi-tech, contact method of ultrasonic research of the structures of forward segment of eyeball
including the cornea , iris , ciliary body , anterior chamber angle , as well as the peripheral parts of the retina and choroid . His uniqueness consists in not only the fact that he allows to investigate structures with high resolution that is impossible by usual methods.
COMPUTER corneal topography — modern method of research of eye allowing to define sphericity of cornea with scanning of her surface.
